Edit Menu

The edit menu offers edit operations for the 'Secret Message' screen. Currently, these are just 'Copy' and "Paste'. Copy will copy the message into the clipboard, Paste will paste the contents of the clipboard into the message screen. Note that if you are using Windows 95 or Windows NT and you have the 16 bit version of DataHush, you will have to use the Windows Keys to perform these operations. To copy, select the text in the text screen and type <Ctrl><Insert>. To paste, type <Shift><Insert>.

If the 'Secret Message' screen is not displayed, the 'Secret Message Screen' option on the edit menu will be enabled. To display the 'Secret Message Screen', select this option and it will appear. You can also toggle the message screen by clicking on the DataHush logo.

 

The Secret Message Screen

The 'Secret Message' screen is where you can compose and decrypt text messages. To use the screen, type or paste a note into the large text box. If the note is already encrypted, select the appropriate key, type in a password if required and press the <DeCrypt> button. If your key and password are correct, the plaintext message will appear.
