Download Instructions:
NOTE: This software, though not 'military grade' was taken down
around the time of 9/11. We experienced an extraordinary number of downloads
of this software around the time of the event, both shortly before and
after. Although it was not likely related, it was decided to take the
software down due to the 'optics'.
Download DataHush Beta
Extract files and then run the setup program (setup.exe)
Note: You need the initial admin password to install. The password is:
chipster
Once the program is installed, you can begin securing messages immediately.
If you prefer, you can download the zipfile and install later.
Installation:
Note: The installation routine is not too smart. We are working on this.
Meantime, you need to install from a directory that conforms to old
style DOS naming conventions. When the archiver asks you for a
directory name, pick a simple one like 'dhinst'. The name can not
be longer than eight characters.
After extracting the files from the archive, run SETUP.EXE and
follow the instructions. Remember, the default admin password
is chipster. You should change this after you have installed the
program.
Versions of DataHush have been tested in the following
environments:
- Windows 3.1
Windows for workgroups
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows NT
Windows 2000.
If you have another operating environment (we have not tested
OS/2 Warp yet), let us know what happened.
This is currently a Beta, so we can't promise much personal
support. If you would like to ask questions or comment, we
can be contacted here.
